Rajath
Rajat Rakkhit
Co-founder, Chairman, CEO

As a well renowned and highly respected leader in the semiconductor industry with over 20 years of experience, Rajat brings proven Executive Management, Operations and Technology credentials to Elucido.

Prior to starting Elucido, he was a Vice President and General Manager with Cypress Semiconductor. His responsibilities included running the Specialty DRAM Memory Business supporting the world's leading mobile telephone platforms.

During his executive tenure at LSI Logic Corporation and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Rajat made significant contributions to their business and technology portfolios. At LSI Logic, he was responsible for all product platform development supporting ASIC, System-On-a-Chip and Communications products. While at AMD,he played a pioneering role in the successful launch of the super high performance K6 microprocessor products and brought AMD's microprocessor and logic technology to a world leading position.

Elucido is Rajat's second entrepreneurial venture - the first being UltraPhotonics, a Silicon Valley Optical Telecom start-up that he co-founded.

Rajat holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is also a graduate of Stanford’s Executive Program, from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.

Jay Sethuram
Co-founder, CTO

Jay Sethuram, a successful serial entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, brings his vast knowledge, experience and expertise of network and systems to Elucido. He is a specialist in design and development of semiconductors and systems for optical networking.

He was the co-founder and CTO of StratumOne, Fiberlane (split into Cerent, Siara) and Advancel. These companies became highly successful and were acquired by leading technology companies in Silicon Valley. His contributions spread over next generation IP over Sonet framers and Sonet multiplexers, ATM networking and digital signal processing. Prior to his entrepreneurial efforts, Jay had held management and engineering positions at NEC, Intel, National and Bell Laboratories.

Jay has also played a role in numerous start-ups as an investor and is a limited partner with large VC funds in Silicon Valley with a varied portfolio in Telecom, Software and Animation films.

Jay holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics from India.

Sharath Narayana
Vice President - Education Business

Sharath brings with him 15 years of experience in embedded technology, people management and entrepreneurial skills.

Sharath started his career in Cranes Software in 1995, where he was deeply involved in research in Digital Signal Processing. He joined Mistral Software Pvt. Ltd., which is a leading embedded solutions company, as a founding team-member in November 1997. Sharath was instrumental in developing the DSP and the embedded software teams in its formative years. He had managed a variety of services contracts for multinational clients. In 2004, he co-founded IDenizen Smartware Pvt. Ltd. a leading Student Information System product development company.

Prior to joining Elucido in January 2009, he was the competency head at Vignani Technologies.

Sharath holds a MSEE degree from Syracuse University, USA and a BE degree in Instrumentation Technology from Bangalore University. Sharath has authored several papers including in the IEEE transactions for Microwave Theory and Techniques.

Srinivas Kulkarni
Vice President - Technology Development

Srinivas comes to Elucido with over twenty years of experience and expertise in the fields of embedded software and system software development.

Prior to joining Elucido, Srinivas co-founded SLF Technologies, an embedded systems software company, where he was responsible for leading all engineering activities and creating the company’s technology roadmap.

Srinivas’s wealth of experience in embedded software development on various consumer electronics products comes from his stints at various technology giants.

As India Program Manager of Creative Technology he drove product development for their X-Fi range by mentoring the teams that worked on Windows driver development, DSP algorithm development and Embedded systems group.

As a Systems Architect at Philips Consumer Electronics, he worked on DLNA based home networking system, DVD recorders/players and face detection algorithm development.

He was a Program Manager at Sanyo Semiconductors, where he worked on 8/16/32 bit microcontroller based consumer electronics products, developing Bluetooth stack and WLAN based PMP device software. He was also part of Sanyo’s global R&D, Bluetooth stack development and qualification team.

Srinivas holds a B.E in Electronics & Communication from Mysore University.

Clarence J. Chandran
Board Member - Hindalco, Ex-COO Nortel Networks

Mr. Clarence Chandran has extensive experience serving on the boards of technology and industrial companies in North America and brings valuable expertise in corporate governance.

He is a former Chief Operating Officer of Nortel Networks. During his Nortel career he had direct oversight of both product portfolios and geographic regions which included the USA, Latin America, Asia, Europe & the Middle East. Mr. Chandran retired from Nortel Networks in 2001.

Mr. Chandran is Chairman of The Chandran Family Foundation Inc., the family's US-based foundation which has a focus on Healthcare Research and Education. He is a also member of the Board of Directors of Novelis Inc. (a Hindalco Company), The Parikrama Foundation in Bangalore, India, which provides free education and nutrition to underserved children and a member of the Board of Visitors of the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. Mr. Chandran formerly served on the boards of organizations such as Web-Tech Wireless (provider of location-based and fleet Telematics services), MDS Inc. (Life Sciences) Toronto, (NYSE/TSX), and Alcan Inc. (Primary Aluminum) Montreal, (NYSE/TSX).

Mr. Chandran is a Canadian International Fellow of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh's awards. He is also a recipient of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in Canada.

Ranjan Kapur
India Country Head WPP

Ranjan Kapur is currently the Country Manager of WPP India, one of the world’s largest communications group and the holding company of some of the world’s largest advertising agencies like; JWT, Ogilvy, Grey, Y&R and Bates.

A veteran in the advertising business having spent 38 years with Ogilvy, Ranjan has worked in several countries with Ogilvy, including New York. In his last assignment, prior to becoming Chairman of Ogilvy India; he was managing Ogilvy’s worldwide clients in Asia Pacific. He was honoured with the Industry’s Lifetime Achievement Award from AAAI in 2008.

He was inducted into the Worldwide Board at Ogilvy in 1998 and was elected Vice Chairman Asia Pacific in 2001. Ranjan is currently on the Boards of MIRC Electronics, Pidilite Industries, Abbott India Limited, Annik Technologies and Eon Premedia, among others.

Ranjan is involved in the development of technology in online and mobile services companies. He is the Chairman of the Strategic Planning Group at Bombay First, an NGO that actively works with government & civic bodies for the development of Mumbai into a global city. He is also a part of the Citizen’s Action Group, a watchdog body under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra that works directly with the Government of Maharashtra towards Mumbai’s development.

Ranjan has recently joined The Economic Times Marketing Editorial Advisory Board.

Mr. Kapur holds a Master of Arts degree in English from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and a degree in Advanced Advertising Studies from the Advertising Agencies Association of America.
